Regional Land Use Partnerships - Interim Report
The Scottish Land Commission has published its interim report which will form the basis of advice to Scottish Government on the establishment of new Regional Land Use Partnerships.
The report sets out the emerging direction of the Commission’s proposals, informed by stakeholder engagement and analysis.
The Commission was asked by Scottish Government in late 2019, to consider how the partnerships might be set up and how they might function to deliver on some of Scotland’s big ambitions. There are big opportunities on how this can be done including:
- Driving more regional and local engagement, decision making and action
- Encouraging the collaboration and dynamism that’s needed to meet Scotland’s ambitions for climate, natural capital and inclusive growth
- Improving the way land use, and changes to land use, are managed
Now the Commission is inviting stakeholders, including landowners, councils, communities and land managers, to contribute their views before advice to Ministers is finalised.
