Are current mechanisms for achieving community land ownership in Scotland effective?

Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) have been commissioned as part of a collaborative team to review the effectiveness of current mechanisms for supporting community landownership and to identify how these could be simplified or improved.

They will be running a workshop with community owners to inform the work of the Scottish Land Commission.

Scotland’s Rural College Oatbridge Campus
Wednesday 30 May 2018 – 10:30-13:30

The focus of this workshop is to identify current barriers to community land ownership, including those linked to legislative pathways (eg community right to buy), negotiated transfer routes to ownership, and constraints linked to factors such as community capacity. The aim will be to identify key opportunities for change to support the expansion of community ownership in Scotland.
